Manage the design and administration of the Arkema Inc. Flexible
Benefits Plan and Arkema Inc. Retiree Medical Plan (H&W Plans), which
cover about 2,000 active employees and several hundred retirees. Gross
cost of these benefits (before employee contributions) is about $30
million, which includes managing 10 vendors in the administration of 15
plans.
Specific job activities include:
- Lead the review and design of H&W Plan designs and vendor selection
- Stay abreast of current best practices via publications and
participation in industry groups; communicate and implement changes on a
regular and timely basis.
- Manage issues with internal parties (Legal, Accounting,
Communications, Internal Audit) and outside parties (HR consultants,
actuaries, auditors)
- Provide tools to and coordinate Health, Wealth and Wellness
communication/educational programs for employees to encourage personal
accountability for benefits selection, health and retirement planning
- Provide leadership, guidance and assistance to HR managers, employees,
former employees, and retirees in all areas pertaining to active and
retiree medical plans
- Establish and monitor service levels of external vendors, including
benefit carriers (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision,
life/ADD insurance, disability, EAP, Health Advocate)
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Profile
- College degree in HR discipline or Finance and 7 years experience in
health & welfare benefits. Prefer strong financial analysis background
due to complex analytical aspects of position. CEBS completion (or in
process) strongly desired.
- Strong demonstrated working knowledge of laws governing qualified H&W
plans
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, with
attention to detail.
- Self-starter who relies on extensive experience and judgment to
identify needs, develop strategy, understand/overcome possible issues,
and accomplish goals
- Ability to work both in a team and also to provide leadership
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
